Boreal Laser

Boreal Laser is an Edmonton manufacturer of laser trace gas sensing systems. The systems use near infrared tunable laser diodes and telecom band fiber optic components. The company is associated with the University of Alberta.

Boreal Laser plans to hire a junior photonics specialist to participate in a system development project.

The applicant should have a Master’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering physics, or physics, with research emphasis based on photonic systems. Experience with optical breadboarding and optical principles would be considered an asset. Experience with LabView or Matlab would also be considered an asset. Good interpersonal and organizational skills are a must. The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and within a team environment.
